What does space planning involve in office fitout design?
It’s how your office design and layout are planned around movement, collaboration and privacy, not just fitting in as many desks as possible. Done properly, it’s one of the first steps in the fitout process, and it accounts for your business requirements now as well as how the space might need to change as you grow.
Can you fit out my office without shutting the business down?
Yes. We plan work around your schedule, including after hours or staged installs. An experienced project manager stays in touch throughout, so your team can keep working while the fitout happens around them.
What building approvals do I need for a commercial fitout in Sydney?
It depends on the scope of your fitout. Larger or structural changes usually need a Development Application, while smaller fitouts often qualify for a faster Complying Development Certificate. An Occupation Certificate then confirms the finished space is compliant and safe to use. We manage the entire process so nothing holds up your start date.
Do you supply furniture, or just the fitout construction?
Both are available as part of our tailored services. We can manage fitout construction and custom joinery, and coordinate with your interior designers or source furniture directly, so you’re not managing a separate supplier or losing quality control across trades.
Can you upgrade data, power and lighting as part of the fitout?
Yes, this is usually coordinated alongside your electrician and IT contractor, so power points, high-speed internet cabling and lighting are in place before final fit-off.

As a tradesman himself, he's a natural leader. Dennis has built his expertise from the ground up, starting in joinery manufacturing before moving into full-scale project delivery. Luke Lonsdale
Project ManagerLuke is Deadline Commercial's Project Manager, coordinating commercial fit outs and custom joinery projects across Sydney from the company's Seven Hills base. With more than a decade in the shopfitting industry, he brings a rare mix of hands-on trade experience with calm, practical project leadership.
Luke began his career in 2013, completing a four-year apprenticeship in shopfitting before working as a site installer for three years. That time on the tools gave him a deep understanding of how high-quality joinery and fit outs come together on site - from the first measurement through to final handover.
Since 2020, Luke has managed projects for Deadline across office, retail, medical, hospitality, pharmacy, and childcare environments. He oversees programming, site coordination, and communication with clients, designers, trades, and building management, always with a focus on delivering safe, tidy, and operational sites with minimal disruption to trading.
Known for his attention to detail and strong work ethic, Luke takes personal pride in seeing every project finished to the standard Deadline is known for: quality craftsmanship, on time, every time. Clients appreciate his straightforward communication style and proactive problem solving.
