What the Client Wanted
The client engaged Deadline Commercial Projects to deliver a complete retail fitout for their new perfume store. This project marked our first commercial retail project, we were keen to prove ourselves and demonstrate a strong focus on detail, coordination and presentation within a dedicated retail space. (Our team has more than 20 years’ experience, but Deadline Commercial was a new company at this time.)
The brief was to create a visually striking store environment to highlight product displays, and incorporate the feature elements (like the incredible light fitting), and ultimately, to deliver a high-end impressive luxury store.
What We Did
Approximately two weeks before construction commenced, we received the approved plans. With all designs and specifications reviewed and signed off, we then coordinated the full construction programme and joinery delivery across all trades.
Our approach allowed building and trade works to run concurrently. So, the custom joinery was manufactured during the first two weeks, while base building and electrical works were carried out on site. We then returned into the store for the final stage and installed the joinery and completed the detailed retail fitout.

- Custom display units throughout the store
- Central point-of-sale and display counter
- Frameless glass shopfront, fixed directly into the ceiling and floor using silicone and adhesive, with pivot hinges installed top and bottom
- Perimeter silver chain feature
- Central ceiling chandelier lighting feature
- Retail signage installation
The Results
From the start of the project, through to construction and then the final handover, the project was completed within a four-week build timeframe. (This is standard for shopping centres – and our team are used to working to fast project installations.) What we did well was stage the delivery – so all trades were coordinated efficiently, allowing the final installation of joinery on time.
