Several factors determine whether it finishes on time, and proper planning early is the crucial aspect that keeps everything in sync. What materials do you typically work with?
We commonly work with laminate, veneer, and solid timber, chosen based on how the piece will be used and what look you’re after. High-traffic areas usually call for tougher laminates, while reception and client-facing joinery or cabinetry often uses veneer or timber accents.
Can you match or extend joinery that's already in place?
Yes, if the existing joinery style and materials are still available or can be closely matched. We’ll assess what’s there against your requirements before quoting, so there are no colour or finish mismatches once it’s installed.
Do you take on smaller, one-off jobs, or only full fitouts?
Both. Some clients need a single reception desk or storage unit, others need joinery across an entire floor. Job size doesn’t change how the piece is built to meet the brief.
How far ahead do I need to book manufacturing?
Lead times depend on materials and current workshop capacity. Generally, it would take a few weeks for standard pieces. We’ll confirm a manufacturing date as the next step once your design is finalised, so it’s factored into your project schedule going forward.
Do you work directly with my builder or other trades on site?
Yes. On larger commercial joinery projects, we coordinate installation timing with the head contractor and other trades so joinery goes in at the right point in the build.
What happens if measurements change after manufacture has started?
Minor adjustments can usually be made during installation. Larger changes may require a panel to be remade, which is why we confirm final measurements before cutting begins.

Luke Lonsdale
Project ManagerLuke is Deadline Commercial's Project Manager, coordinating commercial fit outs and custom joinery projects across Sydney from the company's Seven Hills base. With more than a decade in the shopfitting industry, he brings a rare mix of hands-on trade experience with calm, practical project leadership.
Luke began his career in 2013, completing a four-year apprenticeship in shopfitting before working as a site installer for three years. That time on the tools gave him a deep understanding of how high-quality joinery and fit outs come together on site - from the first measurement through to final handover.
Since 2020, Luke has managed projects for Deadline across office, retail, medical, hospitality, pharmacy, and childcare environments. He oversees programming, site coordination, and communication with clients, designers, trades, and building management, always with a focus on delivering safe, tidy, and operational sites with minimal disruption to trading.
